Harriot’s copy of De triplici motu
A copy of the Liber de triplici motu with an ex libris by Thomas Harriot (1560-1621) has been located at the Biblioteca Pública Municipal do Porto, Portugal (Shelfmark BPMP Y1-3-40). The volume bears also a mark “Q 355”, which indicates that it once was part of Hans Sloane’s (1660-1753) library. Two stamps ‘Museum Britanicum’ and ‘British Museum 1787 duplicate sale’ are also visible. This news has been kindly communicated by Júlio Costa, head of the library in Porto.
